Civil War Sampler

Hello again-

I quite love the new book Civil War Sampler from Barbara Brackman.  This book contains instructions for making 50 different Civil War era blocks in both 8″ and 12″ sizes.  I have many books in my own quilting library, but I find this one to be particularly enjoyable not only because of the quilting content, but because of the history of the war as told from the women’s perspective that Barbara has included. This is a book that you will most certainly pick up over and over again.  What a wonderful gift for a friend or family member who is interested in this era or is new to Civil War era quilting!

As a reminder, the Sun Prairie Quilt Show and Competition starts this Sunday, April 7th and runs through Tuesday, April 9th. JJ Stitches will be open on Sunday, April 7th from 12pm-5pm just for the show, so stop on by if you are in the area.
